About M.I.K
Makerere Intellectuals Kampala (M.I.K) – Kasawo Campus is a secondary school offering both O- and A-Level education, with boarding and day sections. The school is led by a passionate and highly experienced team dedicated to academic excellence and holistic student development.
The school is proudly owned and founded by Professor John Bukenya, a respected lecturer at Makerere University, and Mummy Ritah Bukenya, a devoted educationist and mentor. Their vision is to create a nurturing learning environment that produces disciplined, knowledgeable, and God-fearing leaders of tomorrow.
Our day-to-day operations are overseen by Mr. Namuye Vincent, the Head Teacher, whose leadership combines professionalism, compassion, and a deep commitment to student success. Under his guidance, M.I.K has continued to grow in both academic performance and discipline.

Dear Parents, Students, Staff, and Friends of Makerere Intellectuals Kampala,
To God be the glory for granting us life, strength, and the opportunity to continue shaping bright and purposeful futures at Makerere Intellectuals Kampala (M.I.K). As we prepare to begin First Term on 1st February 2026, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has stood with us in our journey of growth.
M.I.K continues to stand as a rising center of intellectual formation, offering both O-Level and A-Level education in the Sciences and Arts. Our vision remains anchored in nurturing disciplined, God-fearing, and innovative students who are well-prepared to serve their communities, their nation, and the world at large.
As we open this new academic year, our commitment remains strong in three key areas: academic excellence, holistic development, and school growth. We strive to produce exceptional candidate students who excel in national examinations and who face the future with confidence, integrity, and practical competence.
In 2026, we will continue rolling out engaging and competitive academic programs that meet the evolving needs of our learners. We are strengthening our Science and ICT laboratories, enriching our library resources, and expanding our use of technology in teaching and learning. These efforts are designed to ensure that every student who passes through M.I.K is prepared to compete favorably both nationally and internationally.
Beyond academics, we uphold our dedication to character formation and co-curricular development. Through sports, leadership activities, music, debates, and community service, our learners discover their talents, grow in confidence, and develop a balanced outlook on life. What are the school fees?
Fees vary by class and whether the learner is Day or Boarding. Detailed fee structures are available in the school circular or from the bursar’s office. You can still CLICK HERE and get fess structure
What payment methods are accepted?
We use School Pay Codes for all tuition and requirement payments. Only uniform and admission fees may be paid directly at the school office.
We do not accept cash or mobile transfers to staff phones.
Does the school provide boarding facilities?
Yes. Our Boarding Section provides secure dormitories, supervised study times, meals, and pastoral care.
What academic support is available for students?
We provide remedial lessons, holiday packages, research time, and teacher consultations to help students improve in weak areas.
Does the school reward academic excellence?
Yes. Top performers receive rewards such as cash prizes, bursaries, certificates, and recognition at assemblies.
