The administration of Makerere Intellectuals Kampala Sec Sch (M.I.K ) is delighted to officially welcome all students, parents, and staff to Second Term 2026, which has started today 25th of May 2026 with renewed energy and commitment toward academic excellence. Following a successful first term, the school begins this new term with several important academic and co-curricular activities aimed at improving student performance and preparing candidates for national examinations.
The school library has been stocked with the latest CBC revision books and learning pamphlets containing questions and answers for UCE subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. These resources are expected to support students in revision and independent learning throughout the term.
To further enhance academic performance, the school has organized twenty discussion groups for Senior Four candidates. The discussion groups are intended to encourage teamwork, critical thinking, and effective preparation for UNEB examinations.
Students pursuing Arts subjects will also benefit from newly updated learning materials expected to be added to the library during the course of the term.
Geography Field Work Program
As part of practical learning, the Geography Department is preparing a field work trip for candidates. The activity will provide learners with hands-on experience and practical knowledge required for answering UNEB field work questions effectively.
The school administration appreciates the continued support from parents and guardians toward making this important academic activity successful.
External Mock Examination Preparations
Preparations for external mock examinations are already underway. The school is currently finalizing arrangements with suitable mock examination bodies to ensure students receive quality assessment and adequate preparation before the final UNEB examinations.
Further communication regarding registration and examination schedules will be shared with parents and students once finalized.
Development and Student Support
The school also continues with plans to acquire a school bus that will support field work, educational excursions, games, and sports activities. This development is expected to improve transportation and learning opportunities for students beyond the classroom environment.
The school is also preparing a special Welcome Party for Senior One and Senior Five students scheduled for 6th June 2026. The event is intended to help new students interact with teachers, continuing students, and the school administration as they officially settle into school life at M.I.K.
Visitation Days
To strengthen the relationship between parents and students during the term, the school has organized two visitation days:
- First Visitation Day (VD) for Senior Four to Senior Six students will take place on Saturday, 27th June 2026.
- Second Visitation Day (VD) for Senior One to Senior Three students is scheduled for Saturday, 11th July 2026.
